Gyeryongsan Ceramics Village covering 1.65ha in area is situated in Sangsin-ri, Banpo-myeon, Gongju. It is Korea’s first pottery and ceramics community that was established in 1993 by 18 potters and ceramists in their 30s and 40s, who wanted to develop the area as a hub of pottery culture where traditional and modern elements co-exist.
At present, there are 12 potters and ceramists who are carrying on the legacy of their predecessors in the village. It has gradually established itself as a tourist attraction on Gyeryongsan Mountain with the Gyeryongsan Mountain Buncheong Ware Festival and the pottery and ceramics experience programs.
